Description
Before this rainwater harvesting system was installed, runoff was causing soil to erode away from the building. The eroding soil was covering a sidewalk and going into the road. The soil storage and infiltration system that was installed has solved the problem. Five connected chambers were placed underground in front of the library to allow for the storage of rainwater. Once the rainwater enters the system, it is allowed to infiltrate into the soil. If the system fills to capacity, an overflow is provided.
